From what I gathered, you were just being a messenger and if you look at my post, I have never referred to you in anything. All my answers were directed to hadron. At the same time its a little frustrating to us when people repeatedly keep on questioning our goals/legitimacy. Being a messenger, you bore the brunt from some of us :(

My manager surprised me today saying that I was promoted yesterday from a programmer analyst to a systems analyst. I have an approved i-140 and have filed my 485. My priority date for EB3 is current. I also have a 3 year extension of H1B.
There is no change in the job responsibilities.
Question:
1. How soon should I file my AC21 request?
2. What is the impact of this promotion on my H1B?
3. I have waited for 7 years and I may be close to getting my Green Card. How does the AC 21 impact my pending 485?
I declined my promotion. My manager said that it would take a lot of effort to unwind this promotion. He was not pleased with my request.

I am sorry, but this is just plain paranoia that seems to affect a lot of GC holders & aspirants. I have a friend who was worried about changing jobs as it was only 6 months since he got his GC!
You are *not* required to file AC21. Even if you do, in your case, it should present no problems at all, as your role & responsiblities have hardly changed.
It is not a wise approach to deny a promotion when you are not clear about the law. First be clear on the law and then make such important decisions.

And passer by drivers at Higher Speed than you. Can you point police for stopping you.
So don't tell that you are fine and everybody is fine.
What if someone here saw your postings (800+ posting guru) and travels wihtout Transit Visa and Aitport people ask for Transit Visa and missed flight--- Have to stay at Airport for hours.
Try to accept rules guys....

So, please do not aggrevate me. that was my experience, whether you want to take it or not, or, if others want to take it or not is totally upto them. same way, u dont speak for others. keep it to the point and dont do any personal attacks.

They worked enough for this year and they have lot to do. According to my guess they have the following pending work.
1. Issue Receipts (Sep/October)
2. Issue EAD cards for approx 300,000 applicants? (October/November/December)
3. Issues AP for 300,000 (October/November/December)
On top of this they need to celebrate thanksgiving and christmas like every citizen. So don't expect too much from them for this year.
If at all there is some momement in EB numbers, that will happen only between Jan-March(before H1-B madness starts).

Based on my receipt numbers and looking up on USCIS website, it appears my AOS application that was sent to NSC has been sent to California Center. I have not seen anybody's case being sent to CSC. Dunno how good or bad it is and whether it sppeds up/delays my EAD processing. Anybody had experience with CSC and got any of EAD/AP/GC approved from CSC.

1) My screen name has nothing to do with the argument here. If we discuss my screen name we are going on a tangent which is very typical of desis (I rememeber womanly taunts in movies and woman gossip where they would pick anything but would niether make a point nor a valid argument)
so you can see where your argument is going..
2) Hopefull signifies optimism. A pessimist is an optimist who is very analytical or knows better. Your argument is similar to "And they lived happily ever after ...(after singing around green trees) ...." ignoring the ground reality, facts that no dent has been made and also turninga blind eye to the fact that there are people since 2001/2002 stuck. Its 2007 meaning five years and if the Dept is not willing to budge after all these efforts to a number more than 7000, and you still are HOPEFULL ignoring the facts means that you are an idiot. Yes you will get your GC before you die for sure provided you live upto the age of appx 70 and your consulting firm is around and you are not tired of the bickering with your employer.
Its just like a Yash Chora SRK movie ...it only happens in reel life and not real life ..

Turning on the undocumented is not what we want to show to the outside, it is a losing proposition and will turn off the public.
We have to show the public that we follow laws and our position is the same as that of the US govt - no illegal border crossing.
Employing illegals is breaking the law.
Our loyalty is first with the federal govt obviously.
Openly supporting/harboring/encouraging a single illegal is breaking federal law, and will land a person in Jail and can get him deported.
Its a misconception that voicing opposition to illegals will turn off the public from IV, in fact its the other way around .
If a reader cannot comprehend the difference a legal immigrant makes, they are wasting our time anyway, and should go back to high school.
We are a completely seperate group, and as an organization our only relation with them is due to politics, because of which we try to stay neutral.
We can side with them, if they promise to return all my taxes paid so far. Unlike the undoccumented, we have many options.
The voters said loud and clear this week that they want the focus to be on JOBS not anything else like grandiose immigration legislation.
Nothing grandoise is going to happen with immigration for the next few or many years, especially CIR. The only bills that can go through are piece meal and ones targetting specific issues.
I want to repeat, I have nothing against illegals, but the overall opinion of them is pretty negative in the majority of the country.
I hope there is a solution that can help them, but I can't find anything beyond a temporary visa.

i work in a big software corp and never heard of any queries at all?

ICE officer did not visit me on the scheduled day. There is no communciation from him so far on reschedule also. I donno what happened. I also did not want to follow up with him.

My experience with Picture People was ok - fair, I guess those are fine pictures as per USCIS specifications, but nothing out of the ordinary. 14.99 for a set of 4 pictures. Set me back about $80 for 3 sets of 8 pictures.
But my own pictures came out better and are as per specifications. The question is whether to take a chance in case i missed anything or to go with Ok-Fair pictures from Picture People. decisions.. decisions... damn.. retrogression
and of course most portrait studios would guarantee acceptance else will give you a refund or take pictures again for free in case of an RFE.
