this is absurd, why would wire transferring money have immigration officer visit the candidate, if they dont want to give us GCs then most people will continue to transfer money.

Believe it or not, I was about to open a thread like this. And here is the worst part, my AP has been approved 10 days ago, and so far neither the online status changed to approved nor i have received the approval copy. 2 ways I found out my AP was approved was through my local congressman and I took an infopass appointment. In the info pass appointment when I asked what is causing the delay in sending an approved AP, the officer says, if you did not get the approval notice in 45 days, call us back. This after waiting for more than 90days from the date of application. So, its not there until you have it in hand. Merely getting an approval these days is not enough, since they take anywhere upto 45 days to send the approval to you.

In response to my query to my attorney about the FP notices see her response below. And this is from an Attorney with 20+ years of immigration law experience. Anybody else in the same boat??:(

Also, I got call from Senator XXX' office. For reasons I can't even imagine, your file, in its entirety, despite transfer notices to the contrary, is at Lincoln, where it was originally submitted by us as required. Your wife's file, also originally submitted to Lincoln with yours, was sent to California per the transfer notice, but was NOT returned to Lincoln, remaining in California. All this shifting may be a part of the cause of the delay.
After nearly 22 years in this field, and thinking I had pretty much seen it all, this is a new one."

Their total fee is $4,950 for all the prenatal care and normal pregnancy and delivery (no insurance).
Also anyone who wants to avoid medicated deliveries should check out Bradley classes.

When your H1 is ready to be approved, just go back to Canada, get it stamped and enter US using your H1 visa (I-94 should have H-1 stamp)...Thats it, then you are all set...Even after entering on AP, you can continue to work on H-1 if you are still working for the same employer....No need to re-start/re-apply anything...Your EAD/AP will all be still valid but you will be in H-1 status...You can just keep renewing them...The only thing is when you get married and bring your spouse on H-4, you wont be able to file for her 485/EAD/AP till your PD is current again...

As already reported if SJC can send their bill on March 27, their bill would replace the bill braught by Sen. Frist. We all know that Frist bill is more positive than Specter mark? Should we start sending faxes to SJC to include identical EB provisions as Frist bill in SJC bill also?

This country is about money, and we have the tremendous advantage that elections are coming, lets see the big picture.. why dont we jump to the next level from street protesters to work with one of the candidates or 2 or 3 , if they see money they will push our cause. Lets work on that now...
So those guys who attended the hearings or met with senators. what was the result? what did they accomplished? did they get the opportunity to participate with the senator or law maker in an action plan? or we just wasted that opportunity asking for autographs? please those guys post your comments.

I said in my earlier post that I will think about it. This is what I have to say.
There are things that can be measured in single dimension say on x-axis. Say you have to buy a car and you have to ask yourself a question � which car do I like to buy? Say you like Honda as compared to other cars. Your likeability of Honda or such cars could be measured on the positive side of the x-axis and likewise, if you don�t like some car, that can be measured on the negative side on the x-axis. Now, there could be another dimension to the situation, say, what is the car model in question, if it is a civic or maybe accord, accord, CRV, Odyssey, Element or whatever. Now if you ask yourself that question again � which car do I like? This time you need two dimensions to answer the question which Honda model you like and which you don�t like. Foe the sake of clarity you can do this on the X&Y-axis. But say if there is a choice of multiple colors. You would have to now think/plot a 3-dimention model, say a cube, because you may like a model of Honda in one color but you may not like the same color in another model. Now there could be other combinations, say which year make or whether it is a sedan/coupe or the cost factor or resale value, mileage, new/old, dealership, goodies, experience of your friends/well-wishers etc. etc. etc. So there could be multiple dimensions analysis to answer a 7 word question - which car do I like to buy?
The reason I say this is, even situations which otherwise seem simple require multiple dimensions of analysis. And there could be many more dimensions that we do not know or we do not understand. But say, you ignore all dimensions to every situation, and judge every situation in a single dimension analysis - whether or not you like something or not? If you don�t like it, that something has to be wrong. If you like it, that something is right. It can be easily identified on the x-axis. Simple, isn�t it. And because you are not happy, you think it is ok to curse everyone saying that the entire immigration system cannot be fixed because IV has reputation system. The reason I say all this is, I have fundamental difference with the folks who do not like reputation system but continue to look at it and complain about it, even when they have the choice not to look at the reputation system. The problem doesn�t end there. Every week there is someone complaining about the reputations left for that guy, and I just have an intellectual disagreement with that behavior. And I do not have anything against you or anyone else, I am sure you are a good man with a kind heart.

Which is that people giving reds are usually (though not always) doing it as a personal attack (you suck, F*'s etc.), whereas every green that one receives is usually on subject matter (I have not seen a "you stud"!! kind of +ve reps ;) ).
Also, what it wrong for people to complain about the system? If people have the right to give reds, why shouldn't the forum be allowed to complain about it? And if the popular opinion is against it, then the system can be dismantled.

I filed I485 and my I140 got cleared. My employer is not willing to give my Approved I140. I am not sure why he is holding my I140. I dont have have any idea to change job at this time.

I-140 is employer’s property and it is not mandatory to share it with employee, however you can always request a copy of approval notice and in most cases employer will provide one. It is always advisable to have a copy of approval notice (just in case you want to port it to an other job/employer etc) in later stages of your green card process.

With due respect, please refrain from posting pessimistic rants originating from unofficial sources. This may be true, but common sense should tell everyone to wait for such news to come from official sources.
These are things beyond our control. Best not to get anyone's panties into a bunch over such news. If the GC is not possible, that is still OK. Move back to the country of origin and life will go on - thoug not as planned.
The last thing we should be doing is whine about our troubles.

No. The way I understand it, the new employer is offering you a permanent job in the same/similar job classification. So you work for the new employer in a permanent capacity after you receive the green card.
I have a question....Green card is for future employment.In that case,once your I-485 got approved ,you need to go and work for your original employer who sponsered your green card. Is that right? Is that the same case if someone uses AC21?

My wife travelled to India via Munich (Lufthansa) in Feb end and she had no issues with transit visa. She was never asked about it. The I-94 had expired and we have a valid AP and approved H1 (unstamped). She has not returned yet, so any requirement on return journey is untested.
I was nervous before she left and was wondering if I need a transit visa for her. Thanks everyone who posted their experiences.

FearOnlyGod it is, do not give into bad employers. I looked up google for complain DOL against employer harassment. If you have email or other proof of his recent harassment it can be added to the same complaint to DOL check more resources you should be getting your pay.

As I have already accepted that my decision of choosing CP was not right during the time of recession. When dates became current, I thought mine will be current in a month or so and CP is a faster process to get green card as 485 filers some time stuck in name chack and all ( as I know couple of friends). So that was the only reason I filed Cp instead of 485.
