I don't think consulting firms are alone to be blamed.
Lets say there are around 1000 consulting firms it the worst case there may be around 1500 firms which have a capacity to apply 15 H1B each.
still the number would come around 15000 to 30000 but the big 4 companies in India got 20,000 H1B last year, which means they might have applied around 45000 to 55,000 applications
my numbers may be bit off but i think Big 4 companies from India are doing more damage then consulting firms in US.

Woke up parents in India to share news. Did not get off work early. But went to a Thai Restaurant for dinner.
I shopped till I dropped the following Saturday. Felt guilty about spending too much and returned everything next Sunday :)

Urgency of getting a receipt is that once you get the receipt, it means that USCIS has 'accepted' your application and it will not be rejected for lack of initial evidence.

By law Employer is required to pay for your labor. You cannot pay for your labor application. Employer can ask you to pay for your I140 which cost around 400 but if you go for premium processing you can pay 1000 extra. There is no other cost involved. To port your date your lawyer sends a letter to USCIS requesting them to consider your EB2 I140 instead of your Eb3 140 which results in your successfuly porting with your priority date still being maintained from old labor

Also, most companies ask for agreements to repay them if we dont stay with them for few years for filing greencard . Is these agreements legal if they ask to repay labor fees ?

I think we need an IV movement to fix the Indian Consulates - They are absolutely pathetic - Lets get our house in order before we try to fix the USCIS !!! I am a Hindu by birth.
Did my schooling from a catholic school and know Bible's stories by heart and also had led choirs.
Did my B.S. Mechanical engineering from a prominent miniority university, Aligarh Muslim University.
So you see, I would be the last person to use this story to stereotype folks from any particular religon.
I will conclude by saying that polygamy in India is almost non existent. The story cited here is unique, irrespective of what religion the person belongs to, even though the laws may be permitting in certain cases.

Is this still an active topic? or its dead? Are there people with US Master - STEM who are willing to come forward?
I am just trying to gauge this? To me, looks perfect candidate for piece meal while waiting for CIR, justification could be same as 20K quota for H1b, keep US educated in the country and keep contributing to US economy & society. It has two benefits, a) direct to people who have US Master, b) there will xx number less people in front of who don't qualify for this so their turn will come sooner.

Anyways, your "assumption" that majority of people are against reputation system is not correct. We see these threads occasionally but it seems almost everyone give reputations. If you are against a system and you have a choice not to participate in the system, would you still participate even if you hate it and can chose not to participate? The participation of almost everyone is a testimony to the fact that majority opinion is not against reputation system.
As far as -ve personal messages are concerned, you have the choice not to look at it. Why not exercise that "choice" and not put the burden on someone else for leaving you an obnoxious message. Its like you are searching for bad information about yourself and as soon as you find something, you start complaining about it. Good that people cannot look into the mind of everyone else otherwise you will ask some mechanism to erase those "wrong" thoughts from their brain. I mean is there an end to this thing?
Have you heard of the word - Hypocrisy. Well, that’s that I am calling here. Why do you keep looking at your reputation and -ve messages if you don't care about it? And if you don't care about your reputation then why you continue to look at it every minute, and complain about it. Either you care or you don’t. It can’t be bother at the same time. And I am choosing to express my opinion for this senseless behavior as it irritates me. I hope you agree that I can make that "choice" to express, I mean you may want to check with Chris Hansen before saying "yes".

Which is that people giving reds are usually (though not always) doing it as a personal attack (you suck, F*'s etc.), whereas every green that one receives is usually on subject matter (I have not seen a "you stud"!! kind of +ve reps ;) ).
Also, what it wrong for people to complain about the system? If people have the right to give reds, why shouldn't the forum be allowed to complain about it? And if the popular opinion is against it, then the system can be dismantled.
At both ends (the extreme left and the right) it is always "my way or the highway". Neither one recognizes that there are people with different view points, and that everyone should be given an opportunity to air their own views (live a life of their choosing etc.).

after GC i need to mint money for my family & enjoy life too. I dont know about others tho. I will settle down in DC Belt area where one can keep gettin consultancy jobs one after the other and make a million. Most of them are Fed jobs for which one needs to have a clearance and for that one needs to have GC.
we can make a lot of $$$ per hour on such job. Assignments vary from 6 months to 18 months. What more do u want.
why work two jobs and burn our ass off...
