I received a copy of I 485 Receipt Notice from my lawyer today. The priority date is empty in the receipt notice. Is this normal?

She contended that foreign-born engineers in Silicon Valley�s technology industry made a substantial and growing
contribution to regional job and wealth creation.

The study covered 28,766 firms with annual sales of more than USD 1 million and 20 or more employees. The lead researcher Vivek Wadhwa, contends that "this study shows the tremendous contribution immigrants in general and Indians in particular are making to the US economy and global competitiveness. This is a win-win for America and for the immigrants that make it here."

Is it true that my spouse (currently on H4) with pending AOS if outside US when my (principal applicant) approval comes, will not be able to use H4. Will her H4 get invalidated the moment i become a permanent resident. What happens if she boards a plane and reaches US to find that her H4 is not valid ?

They ask you to write A# or Alien# but not the Receipt Number.
Check out the A# in 485/EAD/AP/140 - they should be ideally in synch. If not put the A# from the 485 application because that overrides everything and is still pending....

i have birth certificate which is taken in 2005 but I was born in 1974
some of my friends are saying...as you are born in 1974 and as your
birth certificate was taken in yr 2005, it might cause problems (ins poseses query)
to get the green card.
Is it right?
They are saying me to get Affidivits + non availability certificate now.
will it be a problem if I put my birth certificate....while applying for 485

My advise is to get a Non-availability of birth certificate because an RFE is the last thing you wanna see. My wife tried Allied Legal, India to get Non-availability of birth certificate for her parents. you can try them. They are the immigration attorneys in USA. Sure can! See the tracker. There is at least one person who filed in Texas and has his/her EAD approval date before the Finger Printing date
I also had got my EAD way before my 1st FP - but that was in 2005

Hi,
I am working for "Company A" on L1B from Nov 2006. In 2008 April "Company B" filed H1B and it got approved and received approval letter with I-94 effective from Oct 1st 2008.
After getting H1B I did not move to Company B and continued work with "Company A" on L1B Visa. To void the I-94 received with my H1B Approval I traveled my Home country on Sep 28th 2008 and returned to US on Oct 6th 2008 on L1B visa and continuing my Job with "Company A"
My H1B Employer (Company B) did not revoke my H1B since I have not started working for him.
Now Company B is going to renew my L1B visa for another 2 years.
If they renewed my L1B Visa, what will happen to my H1B?
In future if I want to switch to H1B, can i switch to H1B with my current H1B or do I need to file new H1B with fresh quota (Which opens in April)?
I am really tensed now and I am not understanding whether I should go for L1B extension or do I need to switch to H1B immediately to keep my H1B status alive? What I want to now is for some time i want to continue my job with Company A on L1B by going for L1B renewal and later once the recession is over I want to change my status to H1B? can I do this?
Please advice me what steps I should take to continue in USA?

There is wrong priority date on my Labor Certification approval. They
put 2001 instead of 2002 .
It looks they apparently mixed date with some other candidate who have
similar name as mine. They lost his case and put his priority date on mine.
Now can somebody tell me what are my options?
I can not file if the priority date is correct on LCA. But If I apply
for 1-485 using this wrong date, it may be risky because if they find
the correct date it may be problem.
Therefore, I don;t want to take any risk, I just want to apply for
I-140 but should I contact LABOR OFFICE to fix the date and then submit
the application for I-140. Unfortunately Labor Office is not replied
yet on my request to fix this issue.
