Good to know you oppose illegal immigration that is actually destroying American life. My solution to the illegal immigration was same and given months back on this forum. Punish employers harshly with fines (50K per incident) plus 5 years of jail time and put the burden of finding out if person is legal ON the employer. Soon institutions like Equifax/Experian/TransUnion will pop up instead of the current one -EVerify.

You completely missed the point of immigration and outsourcing. They have NOTHING to do with eachother. Even if they paid me in dollars and gave me a cushy job and paid for every of my expense to run a outsourced part of a company in my home country, I will not go because it's not the money that matters, it the quality of life! I don't want to be driving 1 hour to get 5 miles ahead. I don't want to bribe a peon to get my own birth certificate. I don't want people creating a welcome mat for me on the sidewalk - made not out of rose petals but chewed pan spit.

I like some of your ideas but won't indudge in any dialogue with you unless you update your profile. the idea of punishing employers is not mine. I read it somewhere in one of the posts on this very site, maybe yours only

Sorry if this has been addressed before but I'm not really sure how the FBI name check works.
Is that something we all go through or is it at random? Where can we go to see if we are in the process of going through that or if we have gotten passed it already.

everyone has to go thru namecheck process. Once during greencard process and once again during citizenship process. (if and when you apply for citizenship.)

To find out about namecheck, you can call USCIS and if you get an officer on the line (not the cust service representative ), then you can find out.

You can also find out about the status of your namecheck with infopass appointment. That will take up some of your time.

Guys calm down and don't be defensive. You don't have to explain your successes to anyone. Lets be smart about this and lets learn from our past experiences.

That some anonymous member is asking such questions demonstrates that people who oppose IV agenda are usually arm-chair critics. They have absolutely no idea how phenomenal this event was.

I'm on HB1 but my visa which was issued based on previous H1B has expired. My current HB1 is going to be extended in a few months. I kept postponing my travel to India because of the hassle involved in re-validating visa. I will have to use time off my vacation to get the visa stamp. I did not travel for almost three years. Now, I must travel in November and have no option but to go through the cumbersome process of visa revalidation. It would be such a blessing if I could get the stamping done here.

Lou has branded an entire national communiy in his hate filled rhetoric. I appreciate that good people differ in their views on immigration, but this crosses the line. H1b is "cheap Indian labor" and "overstay their visas" ??
Lou believes in quoting no facts, just bullishly repeating such views. Nobody who disagrees can ever get a word in. I am a specialist physician with multiple degrees and board certifications. I practice in underserved communities, speak fluent English and pay my taxes. My visa status is and always has been legal. Do I meet the Lou standards? I am waiting in an endless line for a green card that keeps me at the bottom based on my country of birth. So much for Lou's cheap labor! Has everyone forgotten his tacit support for outsourcing in his "other professional life"?
Shame on CNN for allowing this. I, for one, have no further interest in this channel.

I guess MOST of the people are concerned about the quality of photos than $ spent. My friend had RFE because the photos he got from CVS were not upto USCIS specifications. So any + experience is valuable to the forum.

Maybe this should come with a big disclaimer that this is just a prediction and nobody can predict how USCIS\DOS behaves on a day to day basis, therfore dont put any weight or hopes on this projection, otherwise this will turn into the infamous prediction from VDLRAO who claimed Eb2 India will be current in a year. The year has gone by and Eb2 India is not even clearing Jan 05.

Yes my in-laws are fine and they were not disappointed seeing me in person. But I am gigling by looking at this thread is growing and at page 3 someone put a shame on this thread. As for me sometime its fun and Ok to share minor detail or personal detail to give confidence to someone doing same thing which we went thru(like I have beein using photos taken at Kinkos and Sears). Nevertheless since date is coming closer to file our 485 it makes me happy to see several smiley face and helping hands in IV forums. Glad to be helping others and ignore rants of others.

I am just here to share my thoughts and knowledge nothing personal to anyone. So to everyone Dont worry:( ! Be happy :) .

This is a very valid point. If employer or his lawyer asks more money in fees for filing I485 it is always better to go thro employer if he files I485 promptly. But if the delay is intention of the employer then use your own Lawyer.

USCIS can deny I-485 application if it is missing "initial evidence". In this case it is approved & active I-140 and Employment Verification Letter from GC Employer.

Also, the USCIS published a new rule that allows the USCIS to have more discretion over shortening of the time frame for responses to RFE from previous 12 weeks to any period of time which they see fit.
